Weather in Albania

The summer in Albania is hot and dry, with strong sunshine. The winter is generally mild with abundant rainfall. Due to the mountainous landscape and especially because of its many divisions, the climate varies from region to region. It is warmer in the western part of the country, which is mainly under the influence of the warm air masses from the sea (the Adriatic coastal region has a typical Mediterranean climate). In the eastern part of Albania, which is mainly under the influence of continental air masses, the winter is cold. Precipitation is in the form of rain. In the highlands, snow can fall from November until March.
